Art2264 Christmas Spectacular

Come along to this special art2264@morissetpcyc event at Morisset Showground as part of "Southlake Christmas Spectacular"on Saturday 22 December.

Art2264 will be hosting "3 Free Arts Workshops" at the 2264 marquee near the drivethrough breezeway. Join in with Djembe Drumming from 5.30pm, a fire twirling workshop (without the fire) from 6.30pm or work on our new youth sports mural designed by Lillian Webb from 5.30- 7.30pm- or do all 3!!!! The fire twirlers (Bec and Tangles) will perform at 8.45pm in front of the main stage just before the fireworks! Read more below....

Santa Claus is coming to ‘art2264@MorissetPCYC’ on the 22^nd of December!

Art2264 is going to be part of the Southlake Christmas Spectacular, this is held each year at Morisset Showground. We can assure you it will be a very merry afternoon!

The art2264 program starts up at 5:30pm with a Djembe Drumming Workshop by Rhythm Hut. A Djembe drum is a rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum, which is played with bare hands. Last time Rhythm Hut made an appearance at art2264, it was a great success!

 Next from 6:30pm we have a twirling workshop from ‘Bec and Tangles’ who with teach you the basics of fire twirling (but without the fire). If you’ve ever wondered how they make it look so effortless, come down and give it a try.

 “I know that watching fire twirling is amazing and I can’t wait to actually be part of the action!” journalist and enthusiast for art2264, Grace Murphy said.

 Running from 5:30pm through to 7.30pm will be a cool, new mural of sports figures designed by Lillian Webb. Why not come along and leave your own artistic touch on the mural, and get a chance to meet some other cool people who like art too?

The last (but certainly not the least!) art2264 activity is a demonstration fire-twirling act by ‘Bec and Tangles’ for 15 minutes. They will perform in front the main stage at 8.45pm just before the fireworks so be sure not to miss the fantastic performance!

The evening will end with a bang! Be prepared for the night sky to light up with colours and sparkles with the 9pm fireworks display.

 Tickets to the Christmas Spectacular cost a mere $2 per person or $10 per car. There is also a great deal on the rides- $10 for a pass to ALL the rides! All of the art2264 activities are free once you are inside the showground. Bring the whole family for a great time. Be sure to be there because it is going to be truly spectacular!
