"Swim Under Stars" on Saturday 19 January at Morisset Swim Centre and try some new skills

Morisset PCYC JANUARY 2013 POOL PARTY- “Swim Under Stars!”

No quantity of rain could ever prevent the PCYC pool party participants from having the time of their lives! On the 19th of January PCYC finally held its long awaited pool party at the Morisset Swim Centre and although the rain was streaming down, nobody let it affect the dynamic atmosphere! Those in the pool, seemed the warmest of all with the pool hovering at around the 31° C mark. It was great to see people of all ages hopping in the pool, participating in the synchronized swimming and aquatic aerobics.
As soon as you entered the pools gates, you were hooked into the feel good mood all around with great music filling the atmosphere, not to mention the many pool toys floating around the pool up for grabs to anyone. The helpful Morisset Rotarians had set up a sausage sizzle and were selling them to many hungry mouths and keeping every body warm with coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
The party started at 7 pm and continued all the way on till past 9 pm. The synchronised swimming was a great hit with the kids and others who all wanted to test out their synchronised swimming skills and see if there was a future for them at the Olympics one day. Naomi Emerson,  instructor of the synchronised swimming group brought two helpful assistants along and together helped the participants to create an energetic routine.
Later on the aquatic aerobics started, run by Morisset Swim Centre challenged many of the older attendees into participating in this fun-filled work out. All though I myself wasn’t participating, I almost worked up a sweat watching them! Some of the things they had to try and do!  However by the end, there were smiles on all faces that participated (and some on the others who preferred to watch instead as well!)
The amazing Morisset Pool Lifeguards were on hand to lend assistance and kept the much needed canteen serviced throughout the session. It was great to see many happy families come along and enjoy themselves, as well as kids bringing friends along and sharing the fantastic experience.
The memorable evening finished with an all ages game of Giant Ball Water Polo in the pool where everybody was split into two teams. They then had to battle it out to see who could score the most points by throwing inflatable balls between the goal posts close together at either sides of the pool.
Overall it was a joyful evening packed with laughs, smiles and happiness. I think I speak for all when I say I cannot wait for another PCYC pool party.
