School Holiday Special!

art2264 is on again this Friday 21st September from 4pm onwards at Morisset PCYC. Join us on the first night of the school holidays for a fun evening of sounds, moves and gaming.

Here's our funk-tastic program:

4pm: Drum circle with The Rhythm Hut
5pm: Guitar workshop with Markus Harkness (please bring your own guitar)
6pm: Hip hop dance workshop with Deborah Lee Dance Academy

We'll also have a free BBQ and the PCYC Mobile will be in attendance (a van stuffed with all that's good in gaming). See you there!

Monday, 13 August 2012

Join us on Friday 17th August for another funky night at Morisset PCYC. We kick off at 4pm with a very loud drum circle, courtesy of the Central Coast outfit 'The Rhythm Hut'. At 5pm things get louder still, with the talented dancers from the Deborah Lee Dance Academy; they'll be teaching hip hop dance moves to anyone and everyone. Then at 6pm we've got two things happening: the first is live performance by Kahibah Brass, a funky/family friendly band- with one of the best playlists around, we challenge you to remain seated!

The second thing happening at six o'clock is a Creative Writing workshop, for 14-16 year olds, with Hollie Pich. Hollie's from the Hunter Writers Centre, she's helping promote the National Young Writers Festival (it's happening in Newcastle this September). Within the Festival there will be an opportunity for younger writers to shine: Hollie will tell you all about the Younger Young Writers workshop, for writers under the age of 18.

Plus there's a BBQ, tasty snacks from Busy Baking, and the PCYC mobile (a van stuffed with all that's good in gaming) will be in attendance.

Be there!

Friday, 13 July 2012

The next art2264 is coming up on Friday 20th July at Morisset PCYC! Join us for a music themed event. At 4pm we'll have taiko drumming (these are the large Japanese drums you play standing up), followed at 5pm with a performance by the TLC band (Toronto Learning Communities). From about 6pm we'll have a jam session plus 'try an instrument' session. We'll also have the PCYC mobile, a van stuffed with all that's good in gaming, on site. And of course all afternoon we'll have visual art and yummy snacks: be there!

Monday, 11 June 2012

We're on again! On Friday 15th June, from 4pm onwards, we're presenting another afternoon of art, music and snacks at Morisset PCYC. Join the art2264 team and experience the following spectacular entertainments:

4pm Baton twirling with the Voyage of Irish Dance
5pm Singing and Body percussion (a capella) with Gabriella
Plus art all afternoon with Margrete Erling and tasty snacks from Busy Baking

In the coming months we're going to be hosting music themed events, including a marching band, and an opportunity to try different instruments. If you think you may like baton twirling, come along as we'd love to form a group of twirlers (is that what you call it?) to accompany the marching band. Funky.

Morisset moves: get funky!

Come along to the latest art2264, on Friday 16th March, for an afternoon of art, hip hop, contemporary dance, gymnastics and all things f-f-funky.

At 4pm we'll have Gymnastics for All with KWK Gymnastics and Sportz Academy. This is your chance to try tumbling, mini tramp, rhythmic, cheerleading and participate in a display. Be there! Boys as well as girls will find something to love in this workshop.

At 5pm we're moving and grooving with the super funksters from the Deborah Lee Dance Academy. Thrown it down, kids, and get stuck into hip hop at 5pm, closely followed by contemporary dance at about 5.30pm.

By this stage we expect you'll be a bit peckish. Enjoy free snacks from local company Busy Baking, or if moving to music ain't your thing, we have art all afternoon with the very talented Margrete Erling.

See you there!
